8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

Good morning 8th Grade Parents and Guardians.  

The promotion ceremony will be held outdoors at 10:00 am tomorrow, June 18th.  Please see below for reminders -  

Each student will be allowed 4 guests.
 
Parents will be admitted to the field beginning at 9:00 am.  GUESTS MUST PRESENT A TICKET TO GAIN ENTRY TO THE FIELD.  Children under the age of 6 do not need a ticket and they can sit on the grass or on a lap.  Parents will use one of two locations to enter –
 
-   Last Name A-L will enter the field behind the gym/fire escape
 
-   Last Name M-Z will enter on West Clay side of field
 
-   Parents will present their tickets and receive a program
 
-   After receiving a program, parents will sign out their child if they are planning on bringing their child home after the promotion ceremony.  If you have another student attending the middle school and you are taking them home, they will need to be signed out as well. 
 
-   Seating will be provided for parents.  Please do not use umbrellas during the ceremony as this blocks the view of others in the audience.
 
-   Parents are not able to walk around to take pictures/videos.
 
-   Please do not park in the staff parking lot – street parking only.
 
-   We are also videotaping the ceremony and a link will be posted to our website the day after the ceremony.
 
-    Awards will be handed to students on Monday, June 22nd.
 
Ceremony Instructions for Students
 
-    All 8th grade students need to arrive between 9 am – 9:30 am and check in on the blacktop between Robert Gordon and Middle School.
 
-    Students need to be dressed in their cap and gowns.  NO FLIP FLOPS OR OPEN BACK SHOES.
 
-    Students will be in rows of 26 students, they will not be seated alphabetically.
 
PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED BY ROWS AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE CEREMONY.
