Everything 8th Grade
Good afternoon parents and guardians,
We have been closely monitoring the weekend weather forecast. Due to the forecasted rain for the weekend and field conditions when it rains, the promotion ceremony will be held indoors. Due to capacity limits, seating for the indoor ceremony is limited. Only 3 blue/yellow tickets will be accepted for entrance. The green ticket will not be accepted. Please see below for check-in instructions for Monday morning.
- All 8th grade students need to arrive between 9am - 9:30am and enter through the door on the blacktop between Robert Gordon and the Middle School. Only graduates will be permitted to enter through this door.
- Students need to be dressed in their cap and gowns. NO FLIP FLOPS OR OPEN BACK SHOES.
- Parents will enter the building through the Middle School main entrance beginning at 9AM. A blue/yellow ticket is required for each guest. No one will be admitted without a ticket.
Two tables will be set up in front of the middle school for check in, at which time tickets will be collected. Parents will also sign out their child if they are planning on bringing their child home after the promotion ceremony. If you have another student attending the middle school and you are taking them home, they will need to be signed out as well. One table will be for last names A-L. The second table will be for last names M-Z.
- Once inside, seating is on a first come first serve basis. Please do not bring in balloons, as this will block the view of others in the audience.
- Parents are not able to walk around to take pictures or videos, as this will block the view of others in the audience.
- We will be livestreaming the ceremony via the RP board meeting webpage and a recorded link will later be posted to our website.
- Awards will be handed to students on Tuesday, June 17th.

A few important reminders/notices –
- Your child received the following items today – cap and gown, tassel and complimentary keychain in one bag and a second bag with stoles and graduation tickets. Students were asked to not open either bag until they arrived home.
- We will be collecting laptops on Monday. A reminder to make sure your child has their laptop, case and charger. Please refer to the attached if either the bag or charger needs to be replaced.
- There is an early dismissal for all 8th grade students on Monday, June 9th . They will be dismissed at 12:20 pm.
